Lesson 3 of 6
Creative testing — hooks, visuals, offers and landing pages
Learning objectives
- Test angles, not random designs
- Pick hooks that match real customer triggers
- Match landing page to ad promise
- Decide a winner with a defined rule
Test angles, not aesthetics
Hooks to test: the problem, the transformation story, founder story, product benefit, social proof, community impact. Visuals to test: product shot, UGC-style, coach talking, training footage, typography, carousel. Offer angles: discount, bundle, challenge, consultation, free guide, starter pack.
Landing page must match the promise
An ad that promises 'free guide' and a landing page that hard-sells a coaching package breaks trust and tanks CVR. The page must finish the sentence the ad started.
Founder insight — Derrick Twum
Most fitness brands lose at creative because they test fonts. The brands that win test angles.
Key takeaway
Test hooks, visuals and offers as separate variables. Define the winning rule before you launch.
Reflection questions
- 1What three hooks could you test next?
- 2What promise does your landing page actually finish?
- 3What result will decide a winner?
Action task
Plan 3 hooks × 3 visual styles × 1 landing page promise. Write the result that decides the winner.
