Lesson 1 of 7
The global PT opportunity
Learning objectives
- Understand why online coaching has gone borderless
- See where global clients actually come from
- Identify the biggest mistakes coaches make going global
- Decide whether global is right for you right now
Geography is no longer the limit
A PT in Manchester can now coach a client in Dubai, Sydney or Toronto on the same day — using a phone, a programme, a check-in and a video call. The internet, app-based coaching and remote payments have removed almost every barrier that used to keep PT local.
The PTs growing fastest in 2026 are not the ones with the biggest local gym presence. They are the ones who picked a clear niche, built one strong online offer and let the internet bring the clients to them.
Where global clients actually come from
Global clients rarely arrive from cold ads. They come from: niche content that ranks in search and social, expat communities looking for a coach who 'gets them', diaspora clients who want a coach from their home country, English-speaking professionals in non-English markets, and referrals across borders from existing clients.
You do not need to be famous. You need to be findable, niche and trusted.
The mistakes that kill global growth
Trying to serve everyone. Pricing only in your local currency. Posting only in your local timezone. Ignoring cultural context. Promising in-person elements you cannot deliver. Forgetting tax and payments. Burning yourself out across timezones with no rhythm.
Going global is a system, not a hustle.

MEM members are spread across the UK, EU, Middle East and beyond. The coaches scaling globally on MEM are not the loudest — they are the ones who got specific about who they help and built a delivery rhythm they can actually sustain.
Key takeaway
Global is not a bigger version of local. It is a different model — niche-led, async-first, and built around one strong online offer.
