Retention: keep clients after the first programme

Retention beats constant chasing
Keeping an existing client for another 3 months is almost always easier and cheaper than acquiring a new one. Retention turns one-off buyers into long-term clients, builds compounding income and creates the proof that attracts more clients.
Coaches who rely only on new sales stay on a constant treadmill.
The drop-off moments
Most clients drop off in predictable places: the first two weeks (overwhelm), week 6–8 (motivation dip), and the end of the initial programme (no clear next step). A simple retention system addresses each of these moments.
Quick wins in week one, an honest check-in at the dip and a clear renewal conversation at the end can dramatically improve retention.
Always plan the next step
Every programme should end with a planned next step: a continuation offer, a maintenance plan, a group programme to move into or a clear conversation about what the client wants next.
If the coach does not plan the next step, the client will quietly disappear.
