Carousels and posts that build authority

~9 min

Learning objectives

  • Understand why carousels still convert well
  • Learn a simple 5-slide carousel structure
  • Build authority without sounding academic
  • Repurpose carousels into other formats

Why carousels still convert

Short-form video brings discovery. Carousels and longer posts build authority. A carousel allows you to teach, walk through a process, or break down a myth — and prospects save and share them, which signals to the algorithm to push them further.

Carousels are also the easiest format for non-confident-on-camera coaches to start with.

A simple 5-slide structure

Slide 1: hook + promise. Slide 2: name the problem clearly. Slide 3: the misconception or wrong fix. Slide 4: the actual fix, in your voice. Slide 5: CTA (save, share, comment, DM, book a call).

Keep words minimal. Use one idea per slide. Always end with a clear next step.

Repurpose, don't reinvent

One strong carousel can become: a short-form video, a long caption post, a story series, an email, a section of your bio, a blog post, a podcast intro, a sales-call talking point. Stop creating new ideas every day. Start squeezing each idea harder.

Founder insight — Derrick Twum

Most MEM long-form pieces start as one carousel idea that resonates, then get expanded into videos, hub pages and even programme content. Good ideas should be reused, not retired.

Key takeaway

Carousels build authority. Use a 5-slide structure, keep one idea per slide, and repurpose every strong post into other formats.

Reflection questions

  1. 1What myth in your niche could you bust in 5 slides?
  2. 2What process do you walk every new client through?
  3. 3Which of your past posts deserved to be repurposed and never was?
  4. 4Are your CTAs vague ("thoughts?") or specific ("DM me PLAN")?

Action task

Draft one 5-slide carousel using the structure. Plan how you will repurpose it into at least 2 other formats.
